Lay Chair

Andrew has enjoyed a career in local government spanning over 40 years. He retired last year from his last position as a local authority Chief Executive after 20 years in the role.

He started his career in local government as a Chartered Environmental Health Officer and progressed through many roles before becoming a Strategic Environmental Services Director and then Chief Executive.

He has long had an interest in the health agenda and was appointed Lay Chair for the Surrey Health Clinical Commissioning Group in April last year.  Since then, he has become engaged fully with the Frimley Health and Care ICS and currently sits on the ICS Board.

Andrew holds a number of Non Executive appointments.  He was formerly a Governor on the 6th Form College Farnborough Board and is now Chair of the Founder Members Group for the newly formed Prospect Multi Academy Trust.  He has sat for many years on the Board of Enterprise First Ltd, a not for profit company providing free advice to start up businesses across Surrey, Hampshire and Kent.  He is also a Trustee of the Farnborough Air Sciences Trust and a Trustee of Reading Force.  This is a national charity aimed at putting reading at the heart of families, with a particular focus on bringing Armed Forces children and families closer together through a shared joy of reading books.

He was previously Vice Chair of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Learning and Skills Council and Non Executive Board Member at the former Government Office for the South East.  He was also formerly Vice Chairman of Farnborough College of Technology.
